Setting Sail

Signs of life are popping up all around New York City and it’s a breath of fresh air for weary residents.

I wish I could say that tourism is coming back to life soon too, but realistically that’s not the case. The city is in recovery mode and will be for a while. For us travelers, we need to be patient.

As New York City enters Phase 2 of reopening next week, with proper precautions and safety measures in place, there are more options opening up for locals to get outside and experience the city. One of the options happens to be a personal favorite and an activity I frequently include on client travel itineraries. Classic Harbor Line offers a variety of sailing trips through the Hudson and NY Harbor on classic vessels or motorized yachts.

Being in the city is an incredible experience, but there is nothing like taking in the New York City skyline from the water. It’s breathtaking. I can only imagine how changing perspective from the confinement of an apartment over these past few months to the broad horizon from the deck of a sailboat would positively shift a mindset and lift a heavy spirit.

Classic Harbor Line is setting sail in New York Harbor starting on June 20th. They are offering day sails, sunset sails, and statue and skyline cruises. Whether you are in the city now and need a beautiful change of scenery or plan to visit when it is safe to do so, I couldn’t recommend Classic Harbor Line more. The experience is unparalleled. I like to recommend authentic experiences that aren’t “touristy”. This definitely fits the bill.

Bonus: From now until July 31st Classic Harbor Line is offering 20% off tickets! Promo code: UpandRunning
