New York City has seriously one-upped itself with the addition of Edge to its elevated city viewing repertoire. Located on the west side in Manhattan’s newest neighborhood, Hudson Yards, Edge sets itself apart as having the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere. The 7,500 square feet of open-air space gives it the feel of being in an outdoor plaza where visitors can mingle freely and take their time soaking in the views.  The viewing deck features a section of glass floor and angled glass walls that allow you to lean out, ever so slightly, to see the city streets 100 floors below.

And, what about that view? The view is nothing short of breathtaking! Edge boasts an unobstructed 360-degree vantage of New York City’s iconic skyline and beyond. From the tip of Central Park to the north to well past the Statue of Liberty to the south, on a clear day you can see up to 80 miles from Edge. Enjoy the sweeping vistas of the Hudson River and watch airplanes land at EWR while you sip a glass of bubbly from Edge’s champagne bar. This viewing experience is truly next level!

The entrance to Edge is on level 4 of The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards, right next to Shake Shack (20 Hudson Yards). From there you will take a 52 second, scenic elevator ride to the 100th floor. General Admission tickets for a specific date and time are $36 dollars if purchased online. Tickets can be purchased on site but are subject to availability. Edge is open daily from 8 a.m. to midnight with the last entrance at 11:10 p.m. Tip: Be sure to dress for the elements, a jacket and sunglasses might serve you well!
